The beauty of plants is not only in the crop you see, but special properties of plants are also hidden in the soil. The roots of plants ensure the absorption of nutrients for the plant and break down harmful substances that the plant has absorbed from the air through its leaves. The roots of plants have an important function for people.

Based on our passion, we started experimenting years ago to make the roots more visible. We allowed plants to root in water in various places (kitchen, living room, office, bathroom) and then continued developing Hydroponics concepts.

Hydroponics is the rooting and growing of plants in water

The great thing about Hydroponics is that you see the plant develop. This is because the roots are visible because the plant is in the water. The beautiful roots in a glass with water is literally 'back to the roots'.

We want to show this passion and therefore started researching whether there was a demand for these types of concepts on our social media channels and in our Concept Store. We knew that, the reactions were overwhelming!

Green Lifestyle

Green houseplants are a prominent part of a lifestyle that revolves around nature and health. Green plants last a long time, making this a sustainable choice for healthy air in your living environment.

Hydroponics fits perfectly into that green revolution, because it also shows how a plant lives and develops. And not to forget, they are easy to care for because you can see whether the plant has enough water.

The Clusia rosea Princess is the most important plant within our Hydroponics concepts, but we have now added more varieties to our Intenz collection, such as the Monstera, Callathea, Strelizia, Philodendron and the Syngonium. Every day, a team of enthusiastic colleagues is ready to make these beautiful items for our customers. We are quite proud that we have added something so wonderful to our company.

Care

Caring for plants in water is very simple: never submerge the plant itself, only the roots. Also leave the upper part of the roots free of water so that they can breathe. A small layer of (tap) water, containing only the roots, is sufficient.

Every two weeks, rinse the roots and add fresh water to the glass. If the water becomes cloudy after a few weeks, the glass can simply be rinsed. Fill the glass with very hot water and let it sit for a while, then clean it and place your plant back in it. Furthermore, a bright location is important and that is all this plant needs, simple!

Concept Store

A space in our nursery has been set up as a Concept Store. Customers can get inspiration here and consumers are very welcome on Saturday morning. We would like to discuss their experiences, including about Hydroponics. We regularly give tours to tell consumers more about plants and what plants can do for you. We notice that people want to return to basics and nature. It's great that as a company we can contribute to this!

There is increasing demand for our Hydroponics concepts. Riviera Maison , Loods 5 and I ntratuin offer it in their stores. Not least, because Hydroponics also receives attention in trend-setting media, such as vtwonen andDe Grote Tuinverbouwing .

To make the products of our Intenz brand easily recognizable, a tasteful, nature-friendly, cardboard gift packaging and label has been developed, which turns the product into a real gift.

Place a number of types of plants in different glasses on the table and you really transform your house into an Urban Jungle. We grow a wide range of different plants that are suitable for Hydroponics, so there is a favorite for everyone!
